why come to therapy?

We live fast passed lives and have become experts at distracting ourselves from ourselves. Therapy offers us the opportunity to slow down, gain insight, and connect to our experience in a very deep way.

what if I don’t know why I’m coming?

That’s ok. Feeling confused about what is happening is normal and we are here to help you gain a better understanding. Some people enter therapy with obvious symptoms of depression and/or anxiety. Others come in feeling distraught and saying things like, “I don’t know what’s going on with me!” Whether the symptoms are overt or ambiguous our goal is to look beyond the symptoms to address the deeper concerns.

what is the cost of therapy?

Out of pocket payment for therapy is $150 per 1-hour session. A sliding scale fee option is offered and can be discussed at intake.

do you take health insurance?

I am primarily an out of network provider, which means I only accept private pay and do not bill insurance. Therapy sessions are $150 per session.

how long and how often do we meet?

A typical therapy session lasts between 53 minutes and 1 hour.

Expect to meet weekly in the beginning. Coming to therapy once a week in the beginning is a strong recommendation. It may seem excessive, but it strengthens the therapeutic relationship and accelerates the work that will be done.
